DreamLake

Billing and credits

Subscriptions provide an allowance. Managed resource usage consumes credits at a separate, published rate.

Pricing preview

Paid subscriptions, credit purchases, and account billing controls are not available yet. This guide describes the proposed model; rates and terms may change before launch.

Plans and usage are separate

Compare plans at dreamlake.ai/pricing:

  • Starter: $0 platform fee, plus managed usage. Trial credit limits are pending.
  • Pro: $20 per month, including $10 of usage (2,000 credits).
  • Team: $250 per workspace per month, including $100 of usage (20,000 pooled credits). Additional usage consumes purchased credits at the published resource rates.
  • Enterprise: individually agreed terms and allowances.

Seat limits, feature entitlements, and support commitments remain to be finalized.

One credit represents $0.005 of retail usage. Included and purchased credits consume resources at the same rates. Usage covered by credits is not charged a second time.

For the current proposed resource prices, use the usage rate sheet. The calculator separates total usage value from the additional credits needed after your subscription allowance.

What counts as usage

The rate sheet covers DreamLake-managed storage, additional backup copies, internet egress, storage requests, CPU, memory, and AI inference or tools. Storage and bandwidth GB follow the AWS binary convention: 1 GB is 2³⁰ bytes. Storage is prorated over time.

Ingress bandwidth is free. Storage and requests associated with uploads still count. CPU and memory are separate resource charges. GPU bundle prices are included in the rate sheet and calculator as previews; availability is coming soon. Bundles include host CPU and RAM, so those resources should not be counted a second time.

AI inference and tools use 2× upstream provider-billed USD, including input, output, cache, and tool charges where applicable. ChatGPT and Claude consumer subscriptions do not convert into credits.

Your own buckets, hardware, and provider API bills are not charged again as DreamLake-managed resources. Pricing for orchestration with your own API keys is still being determined.

Credit lifecycle

The proposed model resets subscription credits monthly. Purchased top-up credits would roll over while subscribed. Credit pack sizes, expiry, and treatment after cancellation are not finalized.

Automatic top-up is planned to be off by default. Its controls will include a balance threshold, purchase amount, and monthly cap. These controls are not available yet; this guide does not enable automatic charges.

Billing settings

Account billing is planned under dreamlake.ai/:org/settings/billing. The intended controls include plan management, usage, credit balance and purchases, automatic top-up, invoices, and payment details. These pages will be introduced as their backend workflows become available.

Public pricing remains on dreamlake.ai. Billing documentation lives here at docs.dreamlake.ai/billing.

Taxes and invoices

Published prices are in USD and exclude applicable taxes. Tax handling and invoice workflows will be verified before paid checkout opens. Enterprise terms and purchasing requirements are agreed individually.

Rollout

  1. Publish pricing previews and the usage estimator.
  2. Connect organization accounts, credit balances, and verified payment events.
  3. Add metering as managed resources and Lakeshore features become available.
  4. Verify sandbox purchases, usage, invoices, tax, refunds, and failure handling.
  5. Enable paid production billing after those workflows pass acceptance checks.

Reading the rate controls

The resource panel on the pricing page switches between hourly and per-second display for CPU, memory, and GPU bundles. This is a unit conversion, not a promise of a particular minimum billing duration; final metering granularity will be specified before launch. Storage, transfer, requests, and AI rates retain their own units.

“Bring your own compute” in the calculator excludes DreamLake-managed CPU, memory, and GPU costs. Managed storage, transfer, requests, and AI remain in the estimate because using your own compute does not automatically replace those services. Your own hardware and provider bills remain yours.

For example, the sample calculator workload has a $389.50 retail usage value. Team includes $100 of that usage, leaving $289.50 of additional usage value. The $250 workspace fee is separate; this example represents $539.50 in combined value before tax and final credit-pack terms.
